First you must select (highlight) what you want to copy
To select text: press your left mouse button down, and run the mouse over the text. 
To select a URL (web address), click on it once. 
. To select a file in Windows Explorer, click on it once.

Three ways to copy and paste
Make your selection,
Click the Edit menu, then Copy
Make your selection.
With the cursor on the selected text, right click, then Copy
Make your selection.
Hit the Control key (Ctrl)+C
Go to your destination
With your cursor at the destination point, click the Edit menu, then Paste.
Go to your destination
With your cursor at the destination point, right click, then Paste.
Go to your destination
With your cursor at the destination point, hit the Control key (Ctrl)+V
    This works in all situations.

Class exercise:
1 First you need a place to paste something. You will often want to paste something into an email message -- but today, open Microsoft Word.  
2 Copy the practice sentence below into the Word document.

This is your practice sentence.

3 Copy the URL of this web page into the Word document. 
4 Close the Word document.
