Windows menus
All Windows programs have similar menus.  Here are the menus of Microsoft Word and Excel. The drop-down boxes generally offer these options and more:
File > Save, Save as, Print
Edit > Copy, Paste, Find

The Internet Explorer browser is a Windows program.
Edit > Find finds a word on the page you are viewing. Find the word options on this page.
Special browser features
Along with the common Windows commands, Web browsers have special features, such as:
View>text size lets you adjust the size of the text on the page you are viewing.
View>refresh forces the browser to reload the web page.
The Favorites menu item lets you save the addresses of websites that you visit often.
The History button shows the addresses of websites you've visited recently.

What does "refresh" mean?
The page you are looking at right now is not out in cyberspace somewhere, it is on your computer. When your browser gets a web page for you, it downloads the page into your computer's "Temporary Internet Files" folder (also called a cache). Later on, if you ask for this page again, the browser will get it from your cache. There's a chance that the page in your cache is outdated. "Refresh" forces the browser to go back to the server and get the latest version of the page. [View>refresh, or the refresh button]
How to print part of web page?
1. File>print preview shows what the printed pages will look like. Under "Print range" specify which pages you want to print.
2. Select the text you want to print. File>print, under "Print range" specify "selection"
3. If you want to print just one frame, File>print, under "Print frames" specify "only selected frame"
What does "home page" mean?
It means different things in different places.
1. On your browser screen, the "Home" icon that looks like a little house is a link to the page that YOU have specified as your "home page." [Tools>Internet options>General] That page opens when you open your browser, and when you click the "Home" icon.
2. On many web sites, there is a "Home" link that takes you to the main page of that site.
3. At a portal site (e.g. Yahoo) you can create your own personal home page (PHP) and customize it to include modules of interest to you.
