Introduction

Bakker & van der Molen families

The Bakker roots in Holland

This is Harlingen, the fishing village in the province of Friesland where the van der Molen family lived. Oep Bakker came from nearby Terschelling, one of the North Sea Wadden Islands.  [Maps]

In Harlingen, the van der Molen family's retail story  was on the Voorstraat.
Many young men on Terschelling went to the merchant marine -- including Oep.
